Jeans For Men : The Hottest Brands This Holiday Season

By

Holiday Shopping

Well, it is that time again, when most of us are thinking about holiday shopping. I have not only been thinking about gifts for others, but also things I will probably purchase for myself. As a confirmed bachelor, at least for now, I choose to keep life simple, including my purchases. However, when it comes to buying certain items, quality rises to the top of my list. This is especially true for clothing items, which are currently on the top of my personal shopping list.

Holiday Shopping : Mens Jeans

At the moment, I am thinking of jeans.  I am not sure if it the same for everyone, but I find myself extremely picky when it comes to selecting jeans. While growing up in a small Texas town, though they were never right for me, I do recall the popularity of Wranglers. Of course, back then, our choices were rather limited compared with today.  In all reality, the many choices today can be overwhelming at times. However, after extensive research, I have my top picks for this holiday season.

True Religion

I like the dark blue look of raw unwashed denim, a feature of the Two Timer Dark wash, combined with a worn finish that comes from hand sanding. These will cost around $209.

These jeans are available in the typical shades of blues, with hand-sanded seams, pockets and knees. You will pay around $189.

These are of particular interest to me, not because of the name, but because they are made in Italy. They are made from a heavyweight, yellow-tinted Turkish denim. The cost is around $285.

Mens Citizens of Humanity Jeans

Citizens of Humanity

A stone washed look made with only a fraction of the water. They use a new machine called an ozone generator, which produces a variegated, nuanced shade of medium-blue. As of this writing, the average cost is $216.

Unlike most, using a pure cotton weave, these offer a stretchy blend that provides more flexibility around the thighs and waist. You will pay around $230.

These jeans begin with dark and raw denim, followed by a unique wash. The average cost is $285.

The thing I like most about these jeans is the whiskers. What the heck is that? It is the whitish, wrinkle-like creases that fall in the laps and thigh regions. They give these jeans a unique look. The average cost is $202.

Mens Banana Republic Jeans

Banana Republic

I do not currently own any Banana Republic jeans and have not looked at the brand in awhile, but the company has revamped their denim line. According to Creative Director Simon Kneen, the new line includes 4 different fits (from relaxed to straight) and 17 possible washes (from the lightest blues to the darkest). The number of choices has sparked my curiosity.

So, if you are like me and considering jeans this holiday season, it looks like we will have many to choose from. If you have a favorite brand that I may have missed or maybe not aware of, let me know about it. Happy shopping my friends!
